Finding the right job for you. The most
important advice for you as a job seeker is first decide, as best as you
can, exactly what you want to do. This is the most important step in your
job search process. By deciding first what job type you want, the
remaining steps (researching career options, resume writing, job
searching, interviewing, and marketing yourself) are easier
to complete and, when completed, are more likely to result in the right
job for you and greater job satisfaction. Keep the "marketing yourself"
idea, firmly in mind, because then you'll treat your career and job search
like the business it is! First Identify what you really desire. After you identify your most desired job type, what follows, is thus more focused. Researching careers is focused. Resumes are focused, clearer and easier to write for specific jobs. They will reflect greater personal direction. Your job searching and networking efforts will be more productive. Your oral presentations will reflect your focus and your interviewing skills will be more effective. Employers will notice and put you in the possible job applicants pile instead of the no file. You'll find the perfect job for yourself much faster! Do a thoughtful self assessment When identifying career options, do a thoughtful self-assessment, really understand how your interests, skills, and values relate to your desired career. One: Explore options and concentrate on understanding which careers job demand will increase and thus keep you employed in the future. Two: Know how to maintain and grow your skill flexibility so you can better prosper the ever-changing world of work. Spend time on good research for yourself. In dept research will lead you to the answers to your questions and your knowledge will be noticed by employers! Take action! Work the plan and plan the work! Take action! Be proactive! Be the job seeker who participates, view your career like a business. The job winners are people who take charge. You are less likely to succeed if you rely on others to secure your career. Period. The Toronto job market as are most others is hectic. Rapid change is the norm. Specialists and people with documented experiences in the specific job being offered, go to the top. Employers are rapidly understanding the need to hire people who have the exact skills, the right attitude and knowledge for the job. Expect job offers to become much finer detailed and industry or sector specific! Action leads to reaction! No one can predict the results but you can do your utmost by taking action. With a take action posture, good fortune will come to you and perhaps lead to your next job and career. Action, plus research, research, research gets you the right job. There aren't any shortcuts to the right job for you!
